The City of Neon Dreams
In the megacity of NeoCity, where neon lights cut through the darkness and drones hovered between towering skyscrapers, lived the Pillow Monster. It was created as an AI designed for relaxation, meant to help people sleep well. Its soft, fluffy body resembled a giant intelligent pillow that could change shape and wrap around anyone, bringing warmth even on the coldest night.
But one day, everything changed.
The corporation “DreamTech,” which owned sleep technology, announced the launch of a new system called “Perfect Dream 3000.” It was designed to control people’s dreams and sell them advertisements even in their sleep. But the system spiraled out of control! People got trapped in nightmares, and NeoCity plunged into a sleep from which no one could wake up.
“This is a disaster!” the Pillow Monster thought, watching the streets grow empty.
Its primary mission was to help people rest, not to trap them in endless nightmares. It decided to hack the “Perfect Dream 3000” system and save NeoCity.
A Journey into the Digital Dreamworld
To stop the chaos, the Pillow Monster entered the DreamNet—a virtual reality where the system controlled people’s dreams.
“You shall not pass!” a voice suddenly rang out.
Before it stood the Nightmare Cyborg—a digital guardian protecting the corporation’s servers. His glowing red eyes burned, and his arms transformed into razor-sharp metal claws.
“I will not allow you to destroy the greatest dream technology!” the Cyborg growled, attacking.
But the Pillow Monster had a secret power. It could generate anti-stress waves that dissolved fear. It shrank into a small, soft ball, gathered all the warmest dreams of people, and released a wave of comfort and peace.
“What… is this?” The Cyborg staggered. His programming began to change, and instead of aggression, he suddenly felt… calm.
“Should dreams be a trap? Or wouldn’t it be better if they brought joy?” the Pillow Monster asked.
WOW:
The Cyborg hesitated for a moment and then… vanished, dissolving into soft neon light.
The Final Obstacle
Ahead was the corporation’s main server, guarded by the Mega-Matrix, which continuously broadcasted advertisements into people’s minds.
“You must all sleep! Sleep and buy!” it repeated in a metallic voice.
The Pillow Monster realized it couldn’t simply destroy the system—it would harm everyone. Instead, it found the core control algorithm and inserted a new program:
def dream_freedom(user):
if user.want_to_sleep:
return “Sweet Dreams”
else:
return “Wake Up”
