Fairy Tale: The Drake and the Magical House

The Drake’s Big Dream

In a picturesque forest lake lived a drake named Kriatchik. He wasn’t just an ordinary bird—he was a true entrepreneur! His dream? To have his own spacious house by the river, with a sturdy roof and a big porch to gaze at the stars in the evenings.

But there was a problem: his old nest in the swamp was too small and unstable, and finding a good house wasn’t easy.

— I need to explore my options! — decided the drake.

He set off on a journey through the forest to find the perfect home.

The Search and Surprises

First, the drake visited the Beaver, the best builder in the area.

— Beaver, do you have a house for sale?

The beaver proudly unrolled his blueprints.

— I do, my friend! There’s a hut with strong walls, but it’s on a hill. You need a house near the water, don’t you?

— Yes, a hill is not convenient for me! — sighed the drake.

Next, he went to the Magpie, who always knew the latest news.

— Oh, Kriatchik, you won’t believe it! There’s an empty house by the river! The Fox was selling it, but something seems fishy about it…

— I’ll check it out, — said the drake and went to see the place.

There, he saw a beautiful but slightly neglected house. It stood right by the water, had a wide balcony, and even a wooden path leading to the shore.

— This is perfect! — exclaimed the drake.

But suddenly, a sly Fox peeked out from the bushes.

— Oh, my friend, this house is very expensive! But just for you, I’ll give a special discount, — she chattered.

The drake gave her a suspicious look.

— Why is it abandoned?

— Uhh… because others just don’t understand real estate!

The drake decided to consult the Beaver, and the moment he arrived, he noticed the problem: the house’s foundation was cracking!

— Without repairs, it will collapse! — shouted the beaver.

A Smart Deal

The drake thought: if no one else wants this house, maybe he could buy it cheaply and renovate it?

— Fox, I’m ready to buy it, but considering the repair costs.

The Fox grumbled at first but realized she had no other buyers. She agreed to sell the house at a lower price.

The drake called the Beaver, and together they reinforced the foundation, fixed the roof, and decorated the house with lanterns.

— Now this is a real estate gem! — the drake exclaimed happily.

A Wise Lesson

The drake realized that the most important thing was not to rush into a purchase and always check real estate before investing money.

From then on, his new home was always warm, cozy, and… profitable! He even rented out a room to traveling birds, which brought him extra income!
