The name of the children’s game: “Race with obstacles”
The purpose of the game: Teams compete by completing tasks and overcoming obstacles to be the first to reach the finish line.
Preparation:
Route: Choose an area for the game (lawn, yard, park). Draw a start and finish line. Place several stations with tasks (4-6 points) along the route.
Obstacles: Set up different obstacles: e.g. hula hoops, chalk circles, plastic bottles to go around, ropes, etc.
Tasks: At each station, come up with a task (see examples below).
Rules of the game:
Participants are divided into two teams with an equal number of players.
Each team stands on the starting line.
At the signal, the first participant from each team starts moving along the route, completing the tasks at the stations.
The tasks must be performed strictly in turn. If a participant misses a task, they are sent back.
As soon as the first participant completes the route and returns to the start, the next participant from the team starts the race.
The team that is the first to complete the route with all participants wins.
Examples of tasks at the stations:
WOW:
Jump over the rope: The participant has to jump over the rope 5 times.
Carry the ball: Carry the ball between your legs or on your head to the next obstacle.
Crawl through the tunnel: Use hula hoops, boxes, or simply crawl under a taut rope.
Try to hit the ball: Throw a ball into a bucket or ring for three tries.
Snake: Zigzag around obstacles (plastic bottles).
Find the object: A small object is hidden in a box of sand or grass – the participant has to find it.
Winner:
The team that completes all the tasks and finishes first is the winner.
Additional ideas:
You can add relay items (such as a stick or ribbon) that each participant passes to the next.
If the children are of different ages, the tasks can be adapted for different levels of difficulty.
For more fun, you can add costume elements (e.g. hats or vests) as mandatory for participants to complete the relay.
This game allows children to move actively, have fun and learn how to work in a team!!!!
