Love can…

Love can…

Maria never believed in love at first sight. She thought that true feelings developed over time—through long conversations, shared experiences, and mutual support. But everything changed when she met Igor.

It happened at a summer festival in her hometown. She was standing by the stage, enjoying the music, when she suddenly felt someone’s gaze. Turning around, she saw him—a tall man with black hair and deep brown eyes that seemed to glow in the twilight. He looked at her as if he had known her all his life.

They introduced themselves and spent the whole evening together, strolling through the park, talking about life, dreams, and the future. Igor turned out to be an incredibly interesting conversationalist—he worked as an architect, was passionate about history, and loved traveling. Maria felt a connection between them forming faster than she had ever experienced before.

The next few weeks flew by like a single moment. They met every evening, cooked dinner together, watched movies, and planned future trips. Maria felt like the happiest woman in the world, yet at the same time, she was haunted by the feeling that it was all too good to be true.

One day, Igor disappeared. His phone was turned off, and his apartment was empty. Maria was devastated; she had no idea what had happened. She even went to the police, but they told her they couldn’t help since too little time had passed since his disappearance.

Several days went by, feeling like an eternity for Maria. She was beginning to lose hope when she received a message from Igor. He wrote that he was leaving town and that it would be best for her to forget about him. Maria couldn’t believe what she was reading. She decided to find him at any cost.

Using her connections and the help of friends, Maria discovered that Igor was in a small town several hundred kilometers away from their hometown. She immediately set off to find him.

Finding Igor wasn’t easy. He was staying in a remote hotel, trying to hide from the world. When Maria finally knocked on his door, he was shocked. She saw a mix of joy and pain in his eyes.

Igor told her the truth. He had run away because he believed he was a danger to her. A former business partner with whom he had a conflict had threatened him and everyone he cared about. Igor thought that leaving was the only way to protect Maria.

Upon hearing this, Maria refused to give up. She suggested going to the police and solving the problem together. After long conversations and much hesitation, Igor agreed. They returned home and, with the help of the police and lawyers, gathered enough evidence against his former partner.

The trial lasted several months, but in the end, justice prevailed. The danger was gone, and Maria and Igor could finally live their lives in peace. The following spring, they got married at the same festival where they had first met. Maria realized that love at first sight does exist—and it can survive even the toughest challenges.
